Chris MacClure

Chris was born in 1943 on the east coast. His father, a jazz musician, and his mother a play-write, fostered an early interest in the arts. His fine art education was highlighted with schooling at both Concordia University in Montreal, Canada and the Emily Carr Art School in Vancouver, Canada.

"While education gives you the direction, living the life as an artist gives you the inspiration," says Chris. This philosophy has served Chris well in the many years he has spent living his art, mastering the craft and gaining international recognition. He was first published in 1981 and since that time has many sold out editions in the print market. The Ford Motor Company of Detroit had, for the first time, licensed an artist to publish Limited Edition art pieces. This series by Chris is officially titled "The Ford Collection".

Chris’s art has found its way into numerous collections throughout the world such as those of Bill Clinton (Washington), Boris Yeltsin (Moscow), John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, and Jay Leno (Los Angeles), Pepsico (New York), and Ford Motor Company (Detroit).

At the present time Chris paints at the Oxford Street Studio
